Your time makes a difference

Help make club life happen.

A welcoming event, a useful program, a new friendship—each starts with someone willing to help. Find your place in the Delaware Valley Weimaraner Club.

Ask about volunteering

More than attending an event

Volunteering is a way to get to know fellow members, learn how club activities work, and contribute to the community around our dogs. Whether you enjoy field work, shows, education, or simply making people feel welcome, your interests can be a starting point.

You do not have to begin with a committee commitment. Ask about a specific task at an upcoming event, or offer a skill you can share from home. Tell us what fits your schedule so we can discuss a useful role.

Start with what you enjoy

Ways to lend a hand

These are ideas to discuss with the club, not a list of confirmed openings. Needs and assignments vary by event and committee.

Welcome people

Ask about greeting attendees, helping with check-in, or introducing a new member to the event organizer. A friendly first conversation can make it easier to join in.

Help an event run smoothly

Offer help with setup, hospitality, supplies, or cleanup. Confirm the task, timing, and any physical requirements with the organizer before committing.

Support field and ratings activities

Ask the field or ratings organizers about appropriate support roles. Tasks around dogs, birds, equipment, or firearms require the organizer’s direction and any necessary experience.

Contribute to shows and programs

Ask about helping with specialty-show hospitality, awards preparation, or educational programs. You can also suggest a topic or potential speaker.

Share your skills from home

Writing, proofreading, organizing information, and selecting photos can support club communications. Ask what is needed, and obtain permission before sharing someone else’s photos or personal details.

Explore committee service

For an ongoing contribution, learn what each committee does and discuss its current needs. The club can explain responsibilities, appointments, and the expected commitment.

A manageable first step

Choose one way to help.

A clear, agreed-upon task is a better start than an open-ended promise. Ask questions and choose a commitment you can keep.

  1. Find an activity that interests you. Browse the current calendar or committee descriptions.
  2. Tell us what you can offer. Share your interests, availability, and whether you prefer helping at an event or from home.
  3. Agree on the details. Confirm your point of contact, responsibilities, timing, and any preparation before taking on the task.

See what is coming up

Check the calendar for current dates and event details. Attendance, registration, and volunteer arrangements depend on the activity.

Let us know you are interested

Use the contact form and mention volunteering. Include the activity or skill that interests you, your availability, and any questions. Expressing interest does not commit you to a role.
