Activities with Weimaraners

Dogs are evaluated against the breed standard for structure, movement, temperament, and overall breed type.

Field events assess bird finding, pointing, hunting ability, cooperation, and progressively advanced training.

Shooting and retrieving ratings recognize natural ability and training at novice through excellent levels.

Dog and handler demonstrate teamwork through prescribed exercises or a course of skill stations.

Timed courses and other performance sports challenge speed, confidence, responsiveness, and teamwork.

With appropriate temperament and training, Weimaraners may serve as therapy dogs—and above all, devoted family companions.
